Type Locality and Naming
Along the Tyulkin section, Shokhetau mountains, N. Nuratau ridge. R.R. Usmanov et al. in 1993 (Korsakov et al., 1993f.). Stratotype in the Shokhetau mountains, Tyulkin section area.
Synonym: Tyulkin Suite, Тюлькинская св., Tulkyn Fm
Lithology and Thickness
Light, layered and flaggy, aphinitic and oolitic limestones, flaggy dolomites. Thickness 300-540m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably overlies the Kulandzhaylau Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Korumbay Fm. (460).
Regional extent
Northern Nuratau ridge, Shokhetau mountains.

Contains stromatoporoids - Amphipora stenus Less., A. sp. (ex gr. denus Bog.), A. ex gr. auzigenica Less., Stellopora ex gr. analoga Bog., Simplexodictyon ex gr. primordium Yavor., characteristic of the Eifelian age.
